Funding
Horizon 2020 is the EU new programme for research and innovation of the European Commission.
It runs for the 2014-2020 period, with a budget of €70.2 billion. H2020 is part of the drive to create new growth and jobs in Europe.

H2020 is structured around 3 pillars:
Different types of project funding are available:

Collaborative project: for blue-sky research (Exc.science, FET); based on industrial needs and to develop new products (Industrial leadership) or based on challenges that EU society is currently facing (societal challenges).

Career funding: to boost your career by doing research abroad in EU or non-EU countries (MSCA fellowships) or by proposing ground-breaking and innovative research at every step in your career (ERC)

Networks: to develop research network organized around the recruitment of PhD students or to develop a research collaboration with non-EU labos or private partners (MSCA networks).

Research infrastructures/e-infrastructures shared between different EU institutions
